ShiftPay ("we", "our", or "the app") is a work-hours and pay-tracking application for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All shift records, job configurations, and settings are stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device. We never upload or access this data from our servers.

1.2 Analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage events (e.g., clock_in, clock_out, export_csv). These events help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

• No personally identifiable information (PII) is attached to these events.
• Events are tied to an anonymous device-level identifier only.
• You can opt out of analytics in Settings → Privacy inside the app.

1.3 Crash Reporting (Sentry)

We may use Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs. These reports contain device type, OS version, and the call stack at the time of the crash. They do not include your shift data or any personal details.

1.4 iCloud Backup

If you choose to use the iCloud Backup feature, your shift data is exported to your personal iCloud Drive. This data is stored in your own iCloud account and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. ShiftPay does not have access to this file.

1.5 In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)

Purchase transactions are processed by Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat solely to verify your purchase entitlement (Pro unlock). RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user ID and purchase receipt — no payment card details are ever shared with us.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Location data
• Your shift records, job names, or pay rates
• Device contacts, camera, microphone, or photos

3. Advertising

ShiftPay contains no advertisements and we do not sell your data to any third party.

4. Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party SDKs:

• PostHog — analytics
• Sentry — crash reporting
• RevenueCat — purchase verification

Each service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all app data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling ShiftPay. Anonymous analytics events may be retained by PostHog for up to 12 months.

6. Children's Privacy

ShiftPay is rated 4+ on the App Store and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app contains no features directed at children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
